BLOG POST #3- BRANCHES OF THE U.S. GOVT.


1.  Find 3 articles about the 3 branches of the Constitution.
     -these articles can be about the same branch
     -these articles can also be about different branches
     -ARTICLES MUST BE FROM AFTER FEBRUARY 1, 2013

2.  Summarize and synthesize these articles
     -write one summary that synthesizes the articles
     -What collective conclusion can you make about these branches based on what you see?
     -What's happening today in the United States government based on these articles?
     -DO NOT SUMMARIZE ARTICLES SEPARATELY
     -CITE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES FROM EACH ARTICLE

3.  Evaluate the three branches of government as part of your 150-250 word summary
     -Based on what you read in your articles, how is the United States government working?
     -Effective?  Failing?  Meeting expectations of the Constitution?

BLOG POST #2


DEBATING THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT:  FEDERALIST VS. ANTI-FEDERALIST ARGUMENTS IN 2013

1.  Find two articles about a current issue, topic, problem, etc. related to the debate over the role of government.  The article should be about the idea of how big and powerful the government should be.
  • Article must be from a respected news source
  • Article must be from 2013

2.  Write 150-250 word analysis of the article
  • What's happening in the articles?  How are they related?
  • In what ways are these articles debating the role and size of the government?
  • How does this issue relate to the debate that occurred between Federalists and Anti-Federalists during the creation of the United States Constitution?

BLOG POST #1- FORMS OF GOVERNMENT


Look for 2 articles about one of the forms of government we discussed in class.  The articles MUST be from 2013.  

  • What's actually happening in your articles?
  • What connections or themes do you see in these articles related to your government type?
  • What system of government is it?  (capitalism, totalitarianism, etc.)
  • How is this system of government functioning today?
  • Is this system of government working successfully or unsuccessfully based on the articles you found?
Make sure you post the URL to your 2 articles on the blog along with your analysis.  Your post should be 150-200 words.

EXAMPLE- Find articles about totalitarianism/militarism in North Korea.

Articles and summary must be posted by Friday, February 15.
